A nice crowd turned out to see the Virginia Beach Deuces and Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks clash at Thunder Hawks Ballpark.

The Virginia Beach Deuces bested the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks by a score of 11-5, with second baseman Stephen McManus getting the main credit. On the day, McManus was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Deuces. Pedro López got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3.

It could have been a different outcome for Virginia Beach, had it not been for Luis Díaz, the 26-year old shortstop . Díaz contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Virginia Beach up, 2-0.
