Rocks Stymie Baltimore, Take 5-1 Win
|
The Plymouth Rocks went home winners at Plymouth Quarry, thanks in large part to starter Rizaldo Manansala. Manansala silenced the Baltimore Black Sox, enabling Plymouth to grab the 5-1 win. Manansala got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Manansala allowed 1 earned run. The Rocks keep rolling, raising their record to 8-4.
The Rocks got a big at-bat from center fielder Phil McCroskey. For the game, McCroskey went 2 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Plymouth a 2-1 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," McCroskey told the Plymouth Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
