Great Lakers Stymie Vermont, Take 4-1 Win
|
Pure Michigan Great Lakers starter Nate Jackson was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-1. Jackson picked up the win for Pure Michigan, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Andrei-Luiz Frial was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 12 save opportunities.
Victor Schuur was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Pure Michigan. The 26-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run single off Don Cantrell. It was his 73rd hit of the season.
