Flyers Outlast Lake Monsters, 13-10
|
Vermont shortstop Ricardo Téllez had a good game, even if his team did not. The Lake Monsters dropped a 13-10 decision to Pennsauken at Monster Field. Téllez was 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Pennsauken reliever Martin Ortíz picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Tim Sandaele shouldered the loss. With the win, the Flyers improved to 42-49.
It could have been a different outcome for Pennsauken, had it not been for Raúl Moreno, the 30-year old catcher . Moreno contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Pennsauken up, 7-6.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Moreno told the Pennsauken Bulletin. "You win just by scoring more runs."
