Getting a good performance from shortstop Fontana Contaldo, the Salt Lake City Buzz defeated the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 10-8. Contaldo was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Buzz. Salt Lake City reliever Gregory Bahena picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jeremy G. Wentworth took the loss. The Buzz, at 50-32, have now won 5 straight.
Contaldo had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 sinker from Jeremy G. Wentworth, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Buzz a 10-8 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Contaldo.
"It was a solid team effort," said Contaldo after the game.
