ParksNRec Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Vermont
|
Behind a solid performance from third baseman Chad Silander, the Pawnee ParksNRec defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 6-4. Silander went 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the ParksNRec. Ángel Ruíz was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 7 save opportunities. Pawnee is now 33-47.
Had Amon-Ra St. Brown not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, St. Brown hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the ParksNRec.
"Nervous? No," said Silander. "It was my time to shine."
