Great Lakers Prevail, 3-2, Over Salt Lake City
|
Behind a solid performance from third baseman Roger Dorn, the Pure Michigan Great Lakers defeated the Salt Lake City Buzz, 3-2. Dorn was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Great Lakers. Pure Michigan reliever Filip Radyuhin picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Barney Starr was saddled with the loss. Pure Michigan is now 37-39.
The Great Lakers got a big at-bat from catcher Victor Schuur. For the game, Schuur was 1 for 3. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 59th hit of the season gave Pure Michigan a 3-2 lead.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Dorn said.
