Reserves Beat Lake Monsters in 10
|
The Reserves faced a stiff challenge from Vermont pitcher Dominic Parker, but persevered to claim a win at Monster Field. The final score was 8-3. Parker went 9.2 innings and allowed 5 earned runs. Athletic Club KC reliever Leroy Moody was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Dominic Parker. Athletic Club KC is now 32-44. Vermont is 39-37.
Dewey Nauss had the most critical at-bat for Athletic Club KC. With two in the top of the tenth inning, Nauss hit a full count fastball from Mannus Dijkman for a 2-run single. It put Athletic Club KC in front, 5-3.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Nauss told the Athletic Club KC Chronicle.
