Doubledays Get One-Run Win at Vermont
|
The Tremont Doubledays bested the Vermont Lake Monsters by a score of 4-3, with catcher John Schnatter getting the main credit. On the day, Schnatter was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Doubledays. Jeff Bradshaw earned the win to go to 3-0. He allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits, with 5 walks and 4 strikeouts. Manuel Pader earned the save for Tremont, his 9th of the year.
Schnatter had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 slider from Mannus Dijkman, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Doubledays a 3-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Schnatter.
"We did a lot of things right," said Schnatter.
The first-place Doubledays have a one-game lead in their division.
