Behind a solid performance from left fielder Germán Espantoso, the Salt Lake City Buzz defeated the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 10-3. Espantoso was 3 for 5 with 3 singles for the Buzz. Matko Perisc got the win, improving to 6-0. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 0 and walking 1. John Ashwood earned the save for Salt Lake City, his 3rd.
With a runner on 1st and two out in the top of the fourth inning, shortstop Alejandro Herrera delivered big for the Buzz. Salt Lake City was trailing 2-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.
"I felt good up there," said Espantoso. "I saw the ball well."
Salt Lake City occupies first place in the Silver AAA at 43-26.
