Doubledays Clip Flyers in Tight Contest
|
Pennsauken pitcher Mike Foltynewicz gave the Doubledays all they could handle, but in the end, Tremont left Pennsauken Park with a 3-1 win. Foltynewicz allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 7 innings. Tremont reliever Theodore Urban was credited with the win, to go to 2-2. Miguel Cervantes took the loss for Pennsauken. Tremont is now 43-26.
Albert Covington's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a cutter from Miguel Cervantes for a run-scoring double. It put Tremont in front, 2-1.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Covington.
