Both teams had their chances, but the Salt Lake City Buzz eventually prevailed at Spirits Stadium.
Salt Lake City starter Juan Ordóñez had a strong outing against the Royse City Targaryens at Spirits Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Salt Lake City reliever Juan Rúbio was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Shang-de Fu. Luis Bejarano earned the save, his 5th, for the Buzz.
Making an impact for Salt Lake City was second baseman Jung-hwan Kwon. He drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Kwon was 3 for 4 with 3 singles.
"This is a very good team," said Kwon. "We have the chance to do something special."
The Buzz, at 42-24, lead by one game in their division.
