Flyers Get Past Salt Lake City for 3-2 Win
|
Pennsauken pitcher Romano Martínez did his part in helping his team beat the Salt Lake City Buzz, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 8 innings, Martínez surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Manny Hernández closed it out for his 10th save.
Raúl Moreno had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the eighth for the Flyers. Coming up with the bases loaded and Pennsauken trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.
After the game, Pennsauken manager Juan Rodríguez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The win puts the Flyers at 22-33, while the Buzz drop to 36-19.
