Juan Rivas left his imprint on the 9-3 Salt Lake City win against the Athletic Club KC Reserves. Rivas, who is rated as the 25th best prospect by BNN, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Chico Landi, credited with the win, is now 7-1. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. The first-place Buzz have a one-game lead in their division.
One of the key players for the Buzz was center fielder Vicente Cruz, who drilled a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning. For the game, Cruz went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Cruz.
