Buzz Top Doubledays in 12
|
Salt Lake City right-hander Paco Manuel made an effective start against the Tremont Doubledays at Doubledays Stadium, leading his team to a 2-1 win. Salt Lake City reliever Luis Bejarano picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Theodore Urban shouldered the loss. The first-place Buzz have a one-game lead in their division.
Michael Walters had the most critical at-bat for Salt Lake City. With one in the top of the 12th inning, Walters hit a 1-0 curveball from Theodore Urban for a run-scoring double. It put Salt Lake City in front, 2-1.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Salt Lake City manager Dan Joseph said.
