Lake Monsters Edge Past ParksNRec, 4-3
|
Pawnee pitcher Eric Colquhoun gave the Lake Monsters all they could handle, but in the end, Vermont left Monster Field with a 4-3 win. Colquhoun allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings. Vermont reliever Pat Clement picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Mark Sanders shouldered the loss. Pawnee's current losing streak has reached 6 games.
In the bottom of the 8th, catcher Tullu Amaad gave Vermont the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Lake Monsters had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Pawnee pitcher Mark Sanders changed that -- and Vermont went on to win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Amaad. "And not try to do too much."
