|
Royse City rode a fine outing from starter Eugenio Piñeiro to victory over the Pure Michigan Great Lakers at Royse City Stadium. The final score was 5-2. In 8 innings, Piñeiro surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Adam Garrison finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
In the bottom of the 6th, designated hitter Joe Karnowski gave Royse City the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Targaryens had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out single off Pure Michigan pitcher Joseph Merle changed that -- and Royse City went on to win.
"We did enough to win," said Piñeiro.
The win puts the Targaryens at 19-22, while the Great Lakers drop to 19-22.
