Lake Monsters Cut Down Targaryens, 7-4
With second baseman José Vázquez leading the charge, the Vermont Lake Monsters defeated the Royse City Targaryens, 7-4, at Monster Field. Vázquez, who is tied for 2nd in the SAAA in doubles with 11, was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Álex Bane got the win, improving to 4-2. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 4 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 2. Vermont now sits in third place in the Silver AAA at 18-12.

Vázquez contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Vermont in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 4-3, Vázquez took a curveball from Eugenio Piñeiro and stroked the double to right-center. His 11th double of the season allowed the Lake Monsters to leap in front, 5-4.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Vázquez said.
