The Pennsauken Flyers racked up a win at Spirits Stadium, bumping off the Salt Lake City Buzz, 4-1. Romano Martínez, who started for Pennsauken, pitched effectively for his team. Martínez, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing 1 earned run. Manny Hernández closed it out for his 1st save.
José Marín's at-bat in the top of the seventh inning was a big one for Pennsauken. Coming to bat with two out, the bases loaded and Pennsauken leading 2-1, the left fielder hit a 2-run single.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Marín.
Losses have been few and far between for the Buzz, who are now 6-2.
