Late Rally by Targaryens Secures Win
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Whips Ballpark, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2033 USSL Triple A season. On the mound was Doug Freeth for the visiting Royse City Targaryens and Eric Colquhoun for the hometown Pawnee ParksNRec. In a spirited contest, the Targaryens pulled out the win, defeating the ParksNRec by the score of 3-2. Earning player of the game honors was Eric Colquhoun.
Barney Heise aided the Royse City cause with a 2-run single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the pinch hitter was 1 for 1. He drove in 2 runs.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Heise told the Royse City Times.
