Supernovas Solve Longnecks, 5-2

The Scranton Supernovas got a stellar effort from pitcher Blair Wright, helping Scranton score a 5-2 win over the visiting Bloomington Longnecks. Scranton reliever Jeff Schneider picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Marcus Blakely took the loss. Greg Davis picked up the save for Scranton, his 3rd of the year.
Had Carlos Sánchez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Sánchez hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Supernovas.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Scranton manager Wes Murray.
The win takes Scranton to 4-2.
