Black Sox Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Scranton Supernovas home opener. Blair Wright started for the home team against Kelemeneke Balun for the Baltimore Black Sox. The Supernovas were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 8-2, Baltimore. Kelemeneke Balun was named player of the game.
The Black Sox got a big at-bat from second baseman Lee Storment. For the game, Storment went 1 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Baltimore a 3-1 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Storment said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
