Rails Lose, 4-3, at Asheville Park
|
Asheville Highlanders starter Albert Sierra was in fine form against the Richland Rails at Asheville Park, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Jason MacGruder notched his 10th save in 10 chances. Asheville, at 46-52, occupies 5th place in the Silver AA.
The Highlanders got a big at-bat from right fielder Harley Whitfield. For the game, Whitfield was 1-3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 5th hit of the season gave Asheville a 4-2 lead.
Sierra called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
