Farmers Come Up Short at Tacoma
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Tacoma Fur Traders and the Lancaster Farmers, Sherman Harrison was the difference-maker. The Tacoma left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 2-1 win. Harrison, the winner, moves to 10-3. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Tacoma is now 51-42, Lancaster 41-52.
Gilberto Chávez was 2 for 3 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Tacoma. The 25-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Benedicto Castellon. It was his 20th RBI of the season.
