Rails Walk Off with Win
|
Richland beat Lannister United at Rails Ballpark, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Josh Waymouth, who earned player of the game honors. The win was credited to Ed Steward in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Fernando Elías took the loss. After today's action, Richland sits at 40-51, while Lannister United falls to 58-33.
Late in the game, center fielder Jorge Díaz had a big at-bat for Richland. In the bottom of the 15th, he hit a run-scoring double off Fernando Elías. The play gave the Rails a 4-3 lead.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Lannister United manager Luis González. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
