Rails Topple Seawolves with Late Rally
|
The Long Island Seawolves got a sterling performance from pitcher Mathieu Neri, but the Rails still prevailed, 5-2. Neri was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. Richland reliever Sammy Harmon was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. John Kraan took the loss for Long Island. Davis Sawyer notched his 17th save in 19 chances.
Jesús Sosa made it 5-2 in favor of Richland when he delivered a 3-run home run. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Rails went on to win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Sosa said after the game.
Richland is now 34-47.
