Lionhearts Win in Extras
|
Asheville got a terrific performance from pitcher Albert Sierra, but it wasn't enough to beat the Lannister United Lionhearts. Lannister United won the Asheville Park contest, 7-5. Sierra was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball. After today's action, Lannister United sits at 51-28, while Asheville falls to 37-42.
The most important at-bat for Lannister United came in the top of the 12th inning, when third baseman Curt Deal stroked a 1-0 fastball to right for a 2-run single, putting Lannister United up, 7-5.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Lannister United manager Luis González.
