Lugo Goes Wild, But Rails Win
|
Long Island third baseman Abad Lugo had a good game, even if his team did not. The Seawolves dropped a 7-6 decision to Richland at Ballpark of Remsen. Lugo hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Davis Sawyer was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 18 save opportunities. Richland now sits at 33-46, while Long Island falls to 54-25.
Pedro Martínez was a key contributor to the win for the Rails. In the top of the fourth with two out, the light-hitting center fielder stroked a single to center. He went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It feels good to get this one," Martínez told the Richland Gazette.
