Fur Traders Clip Highlanders, 3-2
|
The exploits of first baseman Dan Vanblarcom, who was drafted in the two round of the 2029 draft, helped the Tacoma Fur Traders defeat the Asheville Highlanders, 3-2. Vanblarcom was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double. Tacoma reliever Marco Sledge picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Harry Stuterberg took the loss. Earning his 3rd save for Tacoma was Justin Barber.
Vanblarcom had a key at-bat for Tacoma early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and gave Tacoma an early 1-0 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Vanblarcom told the Tacoma Daily News.
The Fur Traders saw their record improve to 45-33.
