The Ghosts had to overcome a good performance from Long Island pitcher Mathieu Neri to claim a 2-1 win at Ballpark of Remsen. Neri went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Casper reliever Robert Cagle picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Orynn Veillon was saddled with the loss. Marc Henderson earned the save, his 2nd.
Armando Pacheco, who is tied for 2nd in the SAA in stolen bases with 24, contributed to the Casper win with a solo home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Long Island manager Matt Helsley said following the tough loss.
The win puts the Ghosts at 29-44, while the Seawolves drop to 51-22.
