Seawolves Reel Off Another Win
|
The Long Island Seawolves went home winners at Farmers Field, thanks in large part to starter Jamey Crockett. Crockett silenced the Lancaster Farmers, enabling Long Island to grab the 6-1 win. Crockett got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 8.1 innings. Crockett allowed 1 earned run. Orynn Veillon finished to wrap up his 12th save.
Louis Teague, who is rated as the 90th best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Long Island with a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I liked his command," said Long Island manager Matt Helsley. "Jamey was throwing strikes."
The Seawolves improved to a lofty 50-21.
