Richland starter Román Mejía pitched effectively against the Casper Ghosts at Rails Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 7-4 win. Richland reliever Hiroaki Nakagawa picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Robert Cagle absorbed the loss. Davis Sawyer closed the game out for Richland, earning his 15th save.
In the bottom of the 8th, designated hitter Alje de Gast gave Richland the lead when he hit a bases-clearing double. The Rails had been trailing 4-3, but the two-out double off Casper pitcher Robert Cagle changed that -- and Richland went on to win.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said de Gast.
Richland now sits in 7th place in the Silver AA at 30-35.
