Late Rally by Farmers Secures Win
The Lancaster Farmers did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Tacoma Fur Traders at Farmers Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Daron Muldoon, who captured player of the game honors. René Fontaine was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 17 save opportunities. Lancaster bumps their record to 27-33 with the win.

Had José Xirau not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Xirau hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Farmers.

In postgame comments to the Lancaster Today, Xirau said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
