Cornu Helps Lancaster Cruise to 14-2 Win
|
The Lancaster Farmers handed the Asheville Highlanders a loss at Asheville Park. The final score was 14-2. Sébastien Cornu was named player of the game for Lancaster. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 6. Lancaster reliever Fidelio Zeri picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Manuel Medranda was collared with the loss. Lancaster, at 22-21, occupies 5th place in the Silver AA.
Jason Slaybaugh, who is tied for 5th in the SAA in extra base hits with 19, chipped in for Lancaster with a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Farmers manager Coy Knight.
