Atoms Turn Back Richland, 4-2
|
Bethesda pitcher José López did his part in helping his team beat the Richland Rails, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Elias Ijzendoorn picked up the save, his 2nd. Bethesda is now 9-16.
The Atoms got a big at-bat from designated hitter Isuru Tanaka. For the game, Tanaka was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 7th hit of the season gave Bethesda a 3-2 lead.
Tanaka told a Bethesda Herald reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
