Rails Clip Seawolves in Tight Contest
|
Long Island pitcher Mathieu Neri gave the Rails all they could handle, but in the end, Richland left Ballpark of Remsen with a 9-7 win. Neri allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 7.1 innings. Davis Sawyer picked up the save for Richland, his 2nd of the year. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Rails.
The Rails got a big at-bat from center fielder Hui-ying Sun. For the game, Sun was 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the top of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 14th hit of the season gave Richland a 9-7 lead.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Sun.
