Highlanders Win at Lancaster, 6-3
|
The Asheville Highlanders picked up a win at Farmers Field, knocking off the Lancaster Farmers, 6-3. Starting pitcher Rich Choquette, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Choquette, now 2-2, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 3 earned runs. Asheville goes to 12-7 with the win.
Félix Calixto helped out the Asheville cause in the top of the second inning with a bases-clearing double. For the game, the first baseman went 2 for 5 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Calixto.
