9-7 Win by Seawolves Continues Hot Start
The Long Island Seawolves overcame a good performance by Tacoma center fielder Sinclair Bothof to knock off Tacoma, 9-7, at Ballpark of Remsen. Bothof was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times. Jeff Starr earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 6 earned runs on 8 hits, with 5 walks and 3 strikeouts. Vinny Mariani earned the save, his 2nd, for the Seawolves.

With a runner on 2nd and two out in the bottom of the fourth inning, catcher Divine Diablo delivered big for the Seawolves. Long Island was leading 5-4 when he belted a 2-run home run.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Long Island manager Matt Helsley.

The Seawolves, now 15-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
