Seawolves Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
Tacoma shortstop Júlio Rodríguez had a good game, even if his team did not. The Fur Traders dropped a 6-5 decision to Long Island at Ballpark of Remsen. Rodríguez was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win was credited to Vinny Mariani in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Anthony Lang took the loss. Picking up the save was Ron Crumpacker, his 3rd.
Long Island grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Dan Chrzan delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 6-5 in favor of the Seawolves.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Tacoma manager David Márquez. "The effort was great."
The hot start continues for the defending champion Seawolves, who took their 14th win in 16 games this year.
