Victory Over Rails Takes Asheville to 9-5
|
Fans who gathered at Rails Ballpark saw a good contest between the Asheville Highlanders and Richland Rails.
Asheville Highlanders starter Jacob Broome was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Richland Rails, 5-3. Broome picked up the win for Asheville, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Travis Watson earned the save for Asheville, his 8th of the year.
Asheville relied on the bat of Edward Woodstock to get the win. The right fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Highlanders ahead, 3-2. For the game, Woodstock had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
"This was a good win," said Broome.
