The Lannister United Lionhearts beat the Casper Ghosts, 10-5, at The Graveyard. The Lionhearts got a fine performance from designated hitter Vernon T. Waldrip, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Hercules Mata'afa picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-1. He struck out 1 in 6 innings. Lannister United, now 9-4, has played well in the early going.
One important at-bat for Lannister United came with no one out in the top of the fourth inning. With the bases empty, Waldrip hit a solo home run, which contributed to the Lionhearts win.
