Rails Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Little Caesars Hot N Readys got a superb performance from catcher Bob Knutson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Richland. The Rails won the game, 5-2. In spite of the loss, Knutson was named the player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 times. Richland reliever Raúl Sánchez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Gabriel Escobar. Richland, now 2-4, is off to a slow start.
One of the key players for the Rails was designated hitter Alje de Gast, who drilled a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, de Gast was 2 for 5 with a triple and a double.
de Gast told a Richland Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
