The Asheville Highlanders picked up a win at Farmers Field, knocking off the Lancaster Farmers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Rich Choquette played a key role in the triumph. At 2-0, the Highlanders have played well so far.

Jeffery Simpson helped out the Asheville cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Asheville manager Josh Jackson.
