Roy Alsobrook pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Augusta Timber Hawks, despite Alsobrook's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Brinkley Belugas at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Sicnarf Loopstok saved it for Brinkley. The Belugas own a robust 71-29 mark.
Had Oscar Gandarilla not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Gandarilla hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Belugas.
"This was a good win for us," said Gandarilla. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
