The Alloway Halberds overcame a good performance by Alaskan second baseman Sigi Lang to knock off Alaskan, 8-7, at Sea World. Lang was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Alloway reliever Domingo Álvarez picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Woody Carlson was saddled with the loss. Alloway is now 35-64, Alaskan 59-40.

Carlos Ávila had a nice at-bat for the Halberds with no one out in the top of the ninth. With the bases empty, the designated hitter got hit by a pitch, which would prove important in the Alloway win.

"It was a test of wills," said Yoshifumi Kamuta, the Alloway skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
