|
Brinkley starter Grover Lowdermilk pitched effectively against the Hialeah Dodos at Belugas Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 8-2 win. Lowdermilk, now 3-3, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Jean-François Chapon earned the save for Brinkley, his 3rd of the year.
In the bottom of the second inning, catcher Juan Báez came through big-time for the Belugas. With Brinkley leading 1-0, he belted a 3-run home run.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Lowdermilk.
Brinkley improves to 67-29 with the win. They lead their division by 9½ games.
