Red Pandas Prevail, 4-2, Over Hamilton
|
Fans who gathered at Coyote Wildlife Refuge saw a good contest between the Sioux Falls Red Pandas and Hamilton Coyotes.
The Sioux Falls Red Pandas defeated the Hamilton Coyotes, 4-2. Earning player of the game honors was first baseman Ricardo Cardenas, who went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Vincent Hall, credited with the save, is now 16 for 17 in save opportunities.
Cardenas had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 cutter from Ed Maresh, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Red Pandas a 3-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Cardenas.
Hamilton manager David Pacheco said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The Red Pandas' win now puts them at 37-40.
