The Alloway Halberds picked up a win at Ballpark of Alloway, knocking off the Augusta Timber Hawks, 6-3. Starting pitcher Gilberto Ramírez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Ramírez picked up the win for Alloway, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-8. Cheung Lai earned the save, his 1st.

With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, right fielder Carlos De Jesús delivered big for the Halberds. Alloway was leading 3-1 when he belted a 3-run home run.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Halberds manager Yoshifumi Kamuta. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."

Alloway occupies last place in the Menard's AAA at 25-47.
