Luis Vargas never let the Drummers get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Disaster to a 3-1 win. Chenor Njie picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Johnnie Bough was tagged with the loss. The Disaster have an impressive 44-27 record.

The Disaster got a big at-bat from shortstop Steve Bock. For the game, Bock was 1-3. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 69th hit of the season gave Port Royal a 3-1 lead.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Vargas told reporters after the game.
