Victory Pushes Disaster Record to 31-24
|
Jeff Porter pitched a gem to lead Port Royal to a 3-1 victory over the Augusta Timber Hawks. In 7 innings, Porter surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. The Disaster bumped their record to 31-24 with this latest triumph.
The Disaster got a big at-bat from left fielder Loren Stallings. For the game, Stallings was 1-3 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Port Royal a 1-0 lead.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Porter told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
